Milsetentayseis La Peña 2018 is a different rosé that unintentionally became the first wine of this unique project.

Next to an open pit mine, we found the plot of ‘La Peña’.

Centennial vineyard in Fuentenebro of clayey, sandy soils and with the presence of quartz, feldspar and mica; the result of a mining heritage in the area that attests to the uniqueness that we can find in the glass.

This old vineyard, where Albillo and Tempranillo live together, expresses all its fresh and intense character.

Manual harvesting in small 12 kilo boxes to pamper the fruit. Direct pressing upon arriving at the winery, and fermentation and aging in 600-liter barrels with their own lees, gives the wine a very characteristic complexity and meatiness. The 2018 vintage was characterized by a winter with high levels of rainfall, which benefited the vineyard after the shortage of rain in previous year. The cycle developed gradually without any weather changes, with sprouting beginning in April. A dry and late summer guaranteed optimal ripening. Nose with white soul and a surprising mouthfeel with a very marked saline acidity. Volume, fat, structure and an elegant and persistent finish.
